Residential care homes from Select Healthcare offer support to individuals with a wide range of needs with a special focus on social interaction and involving residents in regular activities to stimulate both the body and the mind.
We pride ourselves on creating a home-from-home atmosphere where we provide residents with diverse needs with round-the-clock person-centred care from fully trained staff supporting with the level of care needed while aiming to preserve and build independence and improved quality of life.
Our staff can support with any day-to-day assistance needed from personal care to medication while making sure residents are as comfortable as possible and we’re passionate about creating inclusive and vibrant communities which is why we make sure each resident’s choices and individuality are valued and respected. To promote social interaction and involvement we often organise various activities e.g. day trips, music therapy, arts and crafts, themed fun days, festivities, etc.
Person-Centred Residential Care Homes
To make sure we’re providing the type and level of support residents need we carry out a thorough assessment before a resident moves in with us so we’re able to get as full understanding as possible of their needs and how we can best support them and we then create a personalised plan aligned with that. The personalised plans we provide are frequently updated to make sure the support provided continues to align with the resident’s needs.
Options for Short and Long Term Residential Care
Our services are flexible and we’re able to accommodate needs for both short and long term residential care for you or your loved one depending on individual requirements. We have 9 purpose built facilities across the UK offering this type of support and offering a supportive environment whether it’s residential homes for adults with complex needs you’re looking for or residential homes for disabled adults.

Residential care is the process of providing the needed support to individuals facing conditions that don’t allow them to live independently in their own homes with the specific type and level of support depending on each individual’s needs. Generally it can include 24/7 support with daily activities (e.g. washing, dressing, meals), mobility assistance, help taking any necessary medication, etc.
The main difference between the two is the level of medical care needed as residential care usually has to do more with day-to-day routine support while nursing care means that registered nurses are available 24/7 for care and monitoring. Many people have a combination of the two as they may initially move in for residential care and eventually transition to nursing care in the same facility if medical needs change.
At Select Healthcare we offer both types of support with a range of nursing homes available providing care from registered nurses and fully-trained carers.
How much your care will cost depends on a few factors as some people will have to contribute towards their fees while others may not. Your local council will work out how much you will need to contribute by doing a financial assessment for you. In some cases you may be eligible for support such as Local Authority Funding for example meaning the council will pay the maximum they can towards your care home fees.

A care plan is a document that is created by a clinician working together with the patient and looks very differently depending on the individual’s condition and needs. It typically outlines things like medication, what level of care is needed, what the treatment goals are and any other details that are relevant to the person’s requirements and the support that is to be provided.
At Select, we prioritise creating highly personalised residential care plans supported by full assessments of individual needs before the plan is created and care starts to be able to provide the exact level and type of care needed while independence is also preserved as much as possible.
