Many of us may experience mental illness during our lifetime, and in our care homes for mental health, we offer safe and compassionate environments that support mental health recovery. We offer comprehensive and individual care packages and placements focused on the individual needs of each resident. Through thorough pre-admission checks and comprehensive risk assessments, we can facilitate good outcomes for both long and short-term placements.

Comprehensive Mental Health Care

As well as supporting individuals with mood disorders like bipolar and depression, personality disorders, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders, we also specialise in the assessment of alcohol-induced disorders Wernicke Korsakoff syndrome.

At Select Healthcare, we understand that the symptoms of mental illness affect everyone differently. Most people who experience mental illness have short, acute episodes and are able to return to living a 'normal life', retaining many independent skills. This is why we offer step-down programmes as an alternative to hospital stays and we support the recovery of individuals who are returning to their communities.

However, some people suffer from long-term, enduring or chronic mental illness, which can affect their social behaviour and life skills. As stated in the Equality Act 2010, mental health illness is defined as a disability if it has a long-term effect on normal day-to-day life. In our dedicated care homes, we support those with long-term mental illness to maintain their independence and learn skills that help them to cope with daily tasks effectively.

Personalised Mental Health Support

The residential mental health care we offer is person-centred, flexible and diverse. Personalised mental health support is provided by a multidisciplinary team, composed of registered nurses, care staff, occupational therapists and psychologists. In order to provide the most appropriate level of care, all residents have a person-centred care plan that highlights their service needs and aspirations unique to the individual. Regular reviews are conducted with other healthcare professionals, family and friends, if appropriate, to ensure your loved one's best interests are fully supported and represented.
