What Do Care Assistants Do?

Care assistants provide compassionate support for our residents daily and act as a friendly face and a chat as well as a helping hand whenever our care home residents need it. Providing dignity and respect is a key part of any care assistant role and providing personal care to our residents is all part of this. Some of our residents may require more care than others but our job as caregivers is to ensure that they are supported by a friendly face, whatever their needs.

Our care homes aim to be welcoming and engaging places so we offer a range of activities catered to our resident’s needs from day trips out to organising a bingo session in our homes. Stimulating our residents mentally and physically is key to ensuring they remain happy and healthy and our fantastic care assistants help everyone get involved as much as possible and help to maintain any hobbies or interests as well as cultural practices for those in our care.

Care assistants may also be called upon to manage medication needs for our residents to ensure they are receiving exactly what they need at the right times to keep them healthy and happy. They may also be asked to accompany our residents to any medical appointments they may have outside of the home as well as accompany them on any trips outside.
