Westwood Court can provide care for up to 56 people. It is registered to provide personal care for people with enduring Mental Health problems, Dementia and old age. It is located in rural Winsford in the heart of Cheshire close to local shops and easily accessible to public transport. The Home offers palliative care, day care and respite care as well as permanent placements and has a separate Dementia Unit. There is a lift to all floors, gardens, a Kitchenette for residents to use and the home is fully wheelchair accessible. 32 of the 56 bedrooms have en-suite facilities.

The home offers and array of activities and boasts a dedicated activity co-ordinator.

Westwood Court Nursing Home Overview:

Westwood Court is a purpose built 65 bedded nursing service that focuses on supporting people with enduring mental health needs.

The service can support people at all levels of the Mental Health spectrum of need, focusing primarily on people with enduring mental health conditions that require a specialist and caring environment to meet their ever-changing needs.

The Home is split into two separate homely units, each with its own specialism, allowing for a diverse range of needs to be met safely and effectively in one facility.

Our team of both Mental Health and General nurses ensure that a holistic approach is taken when assessing individual needs. This skill mix ensures that not only can we monitor and respond to a person’s ever changing mental health but we can also ensure that a person’s physical health is clinically monitored and given the same level of attention.

There is a regular programme of activities including bingo, pub lunches, board games, clothes parties, outings, karaoke, manicures, dominoes and card games, film clubs, shopping trips. Relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in home life through monthly social gatherings.

Westwood Court is supported by a variety of local church groups. Service and Prayer meetings are held regularly, ranging from weekly to monthly. The activity co-ordinator will facilitate any residents wishing to attend their local place of worship.
