The Old Vicarage Baschurch Celebrates Good CQC Rating

May 23rd 2023

At Select Healthcare, we’re proud of our brilliantly-led care homes across the country. We put a high standard of care above all else and strive for excellence in all areas of resident wellbeing. That’s why we were thrilled when the hard work of team members at The Old Vicarage Care home in Baschurch was recognised in a recent CQC inspection which rated the home as good.

What is a CQC Rating?

CQC stands for the Care Quality Commission. This is an independent regulator of health and social care in England and inspects all care homes regularly to ensure they meet the required standards.

The main tenets of CQC inspections are ensuring residents are provided with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care. The results of each inspection are publicly published to ensure transparency and the CQC can take action against any care homes it believes do not reach the right standards of care. A ‘Good’ care home rating from the CQC means that the care facility is performing well and meeting all expectations of the Care Quality Commission.

The five key questions asked in a CQC care home inspection are; are they safe? Are they effective? Are they caring? Are they responsive to people’s needs and are they well led? We’re happy to say that The Old Vicarage Care Home was rated good in all of these categories.

Rated Good by the CQC

Baschurch is celebrating after achieving their CQC report for The Old Vicarage after their recent 2-day CQC inspection in which the areas of safe and well-led were inspected. We are pleased to say the inspection went very well and we received Good in all the domains making this Good in all 5 domains of inspection. The outcome of the report was a Good rating in all domains – safe, effective, caring, responsive & well-led.
