Wantsum Lodge Care Home

I am sure that for many of you that are looking at this web page today you are doing so because you have some one close to you in need of 24 hour love and devotion and that although your greatest wish is to offer this service yourself, for personal reasons that is not possible; You therefore are looking for someone who through personal experience is able to advise you on locating a special establishment that will fill your absenteeism.

A few years ago I was placed in a similar situation as yourself. My Mother was unable to look after herself due to health and safety reasons and I could not help her as I resided overseas. I found that there are many first class residential homes in and around Ramsgate, all offering a very similar service, but I was fortunate enough to find one very special home for Mum where she found not only the service she required on a 24 hourly basis, but something very special, love and devotion well above the call of duty, that home is Wantsum Lodge. I and my grown up son over the years have visited Mum at Wantsum Lodge on many occasions and always found her cheerful and looking healthy. Mum was always well presented with her hair combed and in clean clothes. The home was always clean and tidy and the staff very welcoming, even though they were very busy they always had time for us.

Recently Mum had a major stroke which left her incapacitated, but thankfully I was able to join her in her last days at Wantsum lodge I have always been impressed with the service offered by Luke and his dedicated staff, but over the last 2 days that I was with mum I witnessed something very special, real love and concern for Mums comfort throughout her last days confirming to me that Wantsum Lodge has been the right decision for Mums Health, happiness and wellbeing. The staff even though they were kept very busy by the other residents ensured that when Mum finally left us she would not be alone. Right up to the end she had someone holding her hand and comforting her.

It is not possible to expect a thank you to be enough. Words are not enough to describe my feelings towards Luke and his dedicated staff. I hope that by reading Mums and my personal experience with Wantsum Lodge that this will help you to overcome any doubts as to making this very serious decision on behalf of your loved one.

Wantsum Lodge Care Home

Good afternoon Zoe,

I've been given your name to write regarding Wantsum Lodge, Ramsgate.

My mother was a terminally ill resident there for nearly six months, and I wanted to let you know, what a fantastic job Margaret Lloyd and all her wonderful staff did in caring and looking after Mum. Mum passed away on 22/04/15, and if it hadn't been for the dedication and love shown by ALL of the staff concerned, the family did not think Mum would have made Christmas, let alone four months later.

They are truly a professionay bunch of wonderful people, who seriously care about the people in their care and their families. They deserve my heartfelt thanks for caring for Mum so well. Nothing was too much trouble.

I think it says it all about their genuine care, when four staff actually attended the service last week. They hardly have time to breathe, let alone give their time to attend a residents funeral.

I would therefore be very grateful if you could please pass on my own and my wife's sincere thanks to ALL the staff concerned. In the six months, we visited almost daily, there was not a member of staff we encountered who did not continually impress us with their efficiency and care. Nor a single occasion when we had any reason to be concerned that Mum was not in the very best possible place. They are a credit to your organisation and deserve the highest of praise.

I can see why there is such a long waiting list there. Everyone wants the best care for their relatives and thanks to your staff that is just what they get along with the dedication, expertise, love and affection that they ALL have in abundance and give so freely.

Kindest Regards,

Paul & Elaine Gregory.

For the attention of Doug Burrows, Manager

Dear Doug,

I am writing to thank you for the fantastic care that Joyce received while at Wantsum. The attitude of every one of the staff was truly exceptional and Sue and I are so pleased that she was very happy whilst in your care. Her health had been deteriorating over the last year or so but it is good that we have some very happy recent memories with her.

Please pass on our thanks also to Mary, Margaret and Luke.

Kind regards,

Paul and Sue
