Select Healthcare Conference 2014
Select Healthcare Group held a 2 day company-wide conference on 10th & 11th September 2014 to celebrate 30 years of the organisation located at The Mount Hotel in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.
The conference consisted of an introduction from our owner My Roy Bernard of how the company is performing and the current management structure, a guest speaker from the Local Authority covering Mental Capacity and the Deprivation of Liberties for vulnerable adults, a presentation from our Director of Operations relating to the new Care Quality Commission Regulations centred around the five key themes of; Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led and training regarding the new Provider Information Return documentation that is being introduced.
On the evening of 10th September all participants were invited to stay for a 3 course evening meal at The Mount with a raffle including prizes, a fun quiz during dinner and games which were all excellent team building exercises.
Day 2 was made up of 4 workshops;
Intranet & Website – An introduction to our new website due to be launched in October 2014 and training on the companies intranet system used for reporting and viewing of company documents such as policies, procedures and forms.
Estates – Information on new suppliers and contractors, budgeting and a short presentation from our new Fire Safety / Risk Assessment Contractor.
Compliance & Risk – Relating to CQC updates and regulations.
HR, Finance & Maxtime – Employment law, procurement and finance training.
All staff attended each workshop and contributed to discussion and received training on company policies, procedures and systems.
It was a very enjoyable event and the feedback from all conference attendees was positive, we hope to make this an annual event in the Select calendar.
