We are excited to add a new member to our team here at Westwood Court.

Westwood Court is a purpose built 65 bedded nursing service that focuses on supporting people with enduring mental health needs.

Westwood Court can provide care for up to 56 people. It is registered to provide personal care for people with enduring Mental Health problems, Dementia and old age. It is located in rural Winsford in the heart of Cheshire close to local shops and easily accessible to public transport. The Home offers palliative care, day care and respite care as well as permanent placements and has a separate Dementia Unit. There is a lift to all floors, gardens, a Kitchenette for residents to use and the home is fully wheelchair accessible. 32 of the 56 bedrooms have en-suite facilities.

The service can support people at all levels of the Mental Health spectrum of need, focusing primarily on people with enduring mental health conditions that require a specialist and caring environment to meet their ever-changing needs.

Our team of both Mental Health and General nurses ensure that a holistic approach is taken when assessing individual needs. This skill mix ensures that not only can we monitor and respond to a person’s ever changing mental health but we can also ensure that a person’s physical health is clinically monitored and given the same level of attention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the well-being of our residents, including making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met
  • Lead, motivate and mentor your team and provide clinical guidance and training to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the care home
  • Carry out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans for each of our service users
  • Essential nursing tasks and duties including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions
  • Monitor work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation
  • Promote our service users independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care and strive for continuous improvement
  • Communicate and liaise with other professionals involved in the wellbeing and care of our residents. As well as family members and other staff members

Experience Required:

  • Qualified Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD)
  • UK PIN number
  • Enthusiastic and dynamic
  • Professional and compassionate
  • Work within the NMC code of Practice
  • Computer literate
  • Motivated to work within a multidisciplinary setting
  • Able to work flexible shift patterns
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
