'Challenging Behaviour'
The Coach House is a 66 bedded mental health nursing home providing care and assessment of needs for adults with mental health disorders from the age of eighteen.
We offer a step-down placement for people that no longer need hospital care but are not yet ready to return home and specialise in assessing alcohol related disorders.
The home has a team of experienced staff from the manager and administration staff to trained nurses both RMN and RGN, support workers with NVQ qualifications in care. A qualified cook and team of assistants oversee the kitchen. Housekeepers and maintenance staff ensure a high standard of accommodation is maintained.
Activities are overseen by our two activity organisers.
Poppy
We promote independence and social inclusion for adults over 18 years of age with a mental health diagnosed disorders. We offer both long and short-term placements.
The care is overseen by a team nurses, offering a holistic approach clients. Our care staff are a dedicated group and actively involve themselves in their daily living skills and social aspects of their lives.
We are able to offer unique support packages tailored to individual needs and aspirations by working closely with the service user, their family and friends.
Activities are a big part of daily life at The Coach House. Service users are actively involved in the planning of their day.
They hold monthly meetings chaired by their elected chairperson. Trips out on the mini bus are very popular as well as outings to the cinema and local bowling alley.
Facilities include three lounges all with flat screen televisions and contemporary furnishings. On the ground floor we have a quiet lounge which offers the facility of reading or listening to music. The kitchen offer a varied menu offering two choices every day. Service users can enjoy their meals served to them in the large dining room or in the comfort of their own bedrooms.
The courtyard offers outdoor space in a pleasant environment where service users can be actively involved in the planting and growing of plants and flowers.
Trained staff work closely with individuals to develop plans of care, by working hand in hand with our service users we are able to offer future focused care and opportunities for people to maintain existing interests and hobbies and develop new ones.
Primrose House
For adults who exhibit the more challenging behaviours associated with mental disorders. We have a specialist unit comprising of eight bedrooms,a communal lounge and a smaller room used for de escalation.
Care is managed by a dedicated group of staff trained in the specific needs required for this type of behaviour. The day to day running of the unit is overseen by a Registered Mental Health nurse.
Primrose House has its own dedicated entrance and all rooms have en-suite facilities. There is a large self contained garden and patio to the rear of the unit.
Jasmine Unit.
This small unit is currently under development for male residents who exhibit Sexually Inappropriate Behaviour as part of their mental health illness.
It is a self contained unit with a large lounge/dining room. Care is managed by a dedicated group of staff and overseen by a Registered Nurse.
